BILL'S TRAIL

It doesn't matter where in the Sayward Valley you walk or drive, you cannot escape the over shadowing presence of Mt H'Kusam. And whether you spell it H'Kusam as the First Nations did, which means "Huge Salmon" or the shortened spelling of Kusam, it is just as imposing. In fair weather you will most often see the "Squaws Blanket" or "Oscar" as we call him, a friendly cloud only present in good weather.

Driving from the North Island, and as far North as Keta Lake, you marvel at it's beauty. Up close and personal, it dominates the whole Valley from the Estuary all the way almost to Dalrymple.
This rag tag team hiked to the summit and returned in 8 hour and of course, the pictures above are the reward. Stop at the visitors center for a map, and directions to the Trail Head.
